Get priceWhen your cargo is long, tall, heavy or awkward, an open bed beats an enclosed box. Stake bed trucks carry pallets, lumber, landscaping materials, scaffolding, pipe and equipment, with removable stake sides that keep loads contained but let a forklift reach in from any side. Flatbeds give an unobstructed deck for oversized items, and beavertail bodies add a sloped rear section and ramps for loading wheeled machinery.
Twelve to 16-foot stake beds on an Isuzu NRR, NPR-HD or Ford F-350 to F-550 are favorites with landscapers, nurseries and building suppliers in Los Angeles and the Sacramento Valley. Twenty to 26-foot stake beds on larger chassis such as the Hino 268 carry full loads of building material. Combo bodies pair a short enclosed box with an open rear section, which is ideal for crews that need both lockable storage and open hauling space.
Look for hardwood or steel decks, rub rails, tie-down rings and stake pockets, headache racks to protect the cab, and liftgates or ramps where needed. Diesel chassis provide the torque to climb grades with a full load, while gas chassis cost less for lighter daily work. If you need a specific bed length or deck height, we can build it on a new chassis cab.
