With snazzy styling and peppy performance, the Audi TT and the Audi TTS appeal to both the practical and the passionate. The TT is available as both coupe and softtop convertible; the TTS only as a coupe.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2022 Audi TT has a 228-hp turbo four; the 2022 Audi TTS makes 288 hp. Quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission are standard on both models; a manual, sadly, is not offered. With well-tuned suspensions, the TT and TTS are effortlessly fast. The TT feels quick and agile, with precise steering and well-controlled body motions; the TTS turns up the heat but still offers the same confident handling. Interior and Technology
Audi chose to eschew the standard dashboard layout in the TT, ditching the expected dash-top infotainment display and moving all of the car’s navigation, audio controls, and settings to a digital gauge cluster it calls Virtual Cockpit; climate controls are cleverly integrated into the round air vents that protrude from the from the dashboard. The result is a clean, minimalist interior that brings a new definition to “driver focused.” The front-seat occupants will find plenty of space to stretch out despite the TT’s small cabin, but it’s done so at the expense of rear-seat legroom; the rear seats should be used only in a pinch for hauling people. Behind the rear seat is a decent-size trunk—at least in coupe models—and we managed to fit three carry-on suitcases back there. Audi offers optional sport seats wrapped in nappa leather with diamond-patterned stitching and they’re worth the upcharge over the standard versions.
