NEW 2022 Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe
PERFORMANCE AND FUEL ECONOMY
The base GLC 300 comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Move up to the AMG GLC 43 and you get a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 with 362 hp and 284 lb-ft. At the top of the range is the AMG GLC 63, which uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 rated at 469 hp and 479 lb-ft in base guise and 503 hp and 516 lb-ft in the S variant. All models come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
EPA fuel economy ratings are 22/27 mpg city/highway for the GLC 300, 18/24 mpg for the AMG GLC 43, and 15/22 mpg for the AMG GLC 63 and GLC 63 S.
SAFETY
The NHTSA and IIHS have not crash tested the 2022 GLC Coupe. The 2022-model-year version of the standard GLC crossover received a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA (out of a possible five stars). In IIHS testing, the 2018 GLC-Class received the 2018 Top Safety Pick + rating from the IIHS.
Standard active safety tech includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, Attention Assist, and Crosswind Assist. Blind-spot monitoring is an option on the GLC 300 and standard on the GLC 43 and 63 models. Adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, high beam assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are optional.
Utility
The 2022 GLC Coupe has 17.7 cubic feet of cargo space with all seats in place that can be expanded to 49.4 cubic feet with the rear seats down.
