The 2020 Infiniti QX60 earns praise for its luxurious interior, spacious three-row seating and comfortable ride, but automotive critics say that some competing SUVs are more engaging to drive.
The QX60 (previously JX35) is powered by a V6 engine that test drivers say provides adequate power at city speeds, but some write that the QX60 can feel strained on the highway. Reviewers attribute this strain to the standard continuously variable transmission (CVT), which they say can be slow to react when more power is needed. Fuel economy is rated as high as 20/27 mpg city/highway, which is fairly good for the class. The QX60 doesn’t earn a very high performance score, in part because many reviewers say its suspension is tuned too softly and its steering is too light. Still, some appreciate that its soft suspension gives the QX60 a very comfortable ride.
The automotive press says that the 2020 QX60’s interior is constructed with high-quality materials that have an elegant appearance. Test drivers are also impressed that the seven-seat QX60 has one of the most comfortable third-row seats in the segment, which is both spacious and easy to get to. Some reviewers say that the QX60 has a useful amount of cargo space, but others comment that SUVs like the Buick Enclave offer a bit more space. Reviewers are pleased that the QX60’s climate and stereo controls can be easily operated with conventional knobs and buttons, rather than confusing on-screen menus. Standard features include a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth phone connectivity, tri-zone automatic climate control and a backup camera. Major options include a navigation system, an Around View monitor, which provides a 360-degree view around the QX60, and a 13- or 15-speaker Bose stereo system.
