Overview
There are two engines available in the 2022 Clubman including a base 1.5-liter turbo-three rated at 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 189 hp and 207 lb-ft in the Clubman S, or 228 hp and 258 lb-ft in the high-performance JCW model. A six-speed manual is standard on all models while a six-speed automatic is optional on the base front-drive Clubman. Base models with all-wheel drive, the Clubman S and JCW feature an eight-speed automatic option instead of the six-speed unit. There’s 17.5 cubic feet behind the split-folding rear seats and 47.9 cubic feet behind the front seats.
EPA fuel economy ratings are 24/33 mpg city/highway for the manual-equipped base Clubman and 24/32 mpg with the automatic. Opt for all-wheel drive and those numbers drop to 22/32 mpg with the manual and 23/31 mpg with the automatic. The Clubman S is slightly less efficient at 22/31 mpg with the manual and 23/32 mpg for the automatic. Add all-wheel drive and those numbers drop down to 21/30 mpg and 22/31 mpg for the manual and automatic respectively. The Clubman JCW, which comes standard with all-wheel drive, is rated at 21/31 mpg with the manual or 23/31 mpg with the automatic.
Safety
The NHTSA and IIHS haven’t crash-tested the 2022 Mini Clubman. Models equipped with the Fully Loaded package can be equipped with the Active Driving Assistant, which bundles together adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and automatic high beam assist.
